It's usually a 1/8 track but they have already made a few changes to be more 1/10 friendly as they are hosting some big 1/10 events soon. I am also told that in 1/10 races the whole track won't be utilised.

Also, any idea on what turn motor would suit? I have no idea on 1/10, I run a 1900kv on 4S in my 1/8 buggys.

What spares should I order? Shock towers, arms? I know it's durable, but just to be on the safe side.
Looks like your interested in Tekin motors. Check out their (Redline Gen2) motors. Most people are running a 6.5t motor. Here's a link.

Also, just in case you might be curious about kv information for the type of motors that are most popular on 1/10 scale 4wd buggies, here's a link for that information also. Be sure to check out post #1.

I would really like someone, like avid, to make additional pistons. I'm trying to get more pack as I'm bottoming out. I'm experimenting with some two hole pistons but for now, I can't get parts. But more importantly, I would rather buy pistons. I really did not enjoy manually drilling out the blank set.

buy the blank piston, buy the drill, and pay the guy sitting next to you to drill it for you. everyone's happy.

But right now, I can't buy blank ones even if I wanted to.

i know we are a little biased here being a d413 thread and all, i have been blasting this thing around our old track where rhythm was key and it was blistering fast, and now new track layout which is more about cornering than anything else...my first try on this layout was open practice for norcal champs last friday, and then qualifying saturday, and mains sunday....a nerve wrecking time with pro's blasting by, along side SCT and 2wd's bug/truck...it took a bunch hard hits from bad landings, clipping the pipe...coming down at a bad angle landing hard on a single front tire, got launched toward the end of straights right into the wall, cart wheeling, landed on, landed on a LOT of power....damage so far, nothing....not one single popped ball cup, shocks have stayed on....did have to swap out the protective shock dodads on the front as they would rotate....the spring cups with out the protective shield on was in the kit so they went on instead.

the only thing broken so far is the fan on the esc...but that has happened with all of them, and i replaced with sunon and all is good

today i got a couple packs in between marchalling/teaching the kids rc....i was hard on it, and all it did was pay me back with faster lap times...this thing is rock solid, i dont have to baby it around like my other wheelers

thanks for a great car....now to sell the other wheeler, and buy a backup d413 (dont think its needed though)

josh close setup is great for indoor dirt/clay medium traction

Cool, thanks, I thought they should.

I prefer the pre-mounts but being new to 1/10 it seems that the fronts and rears are different, which I new about in 2wd, I thought 4wd was the same front and rear, like in 1/8.

Is there a reason for that? Are there decent pre-mount front wheels available?

I haven't seen any pre-mount 4wd buggy fronts from any company yet other than Duratrax. Their stuff is pretty darn good and I have always had positive results with their wheels/tires.

Hmmm, I'm not sure on how Duratrax would go in racing? I may have to learn to glue!!!!

Edit: Actually there seems to be a bit of a range in Duratrax, I'll be looking into them.

I fear my glue jobs will be bad. Out of round and balance, with tires coming unstuck.

I'm going to get this car from Tower, so far I've also got in my cart:

*Hot Bodies Front Shock Tower Mount D413

*Hot Bodies Rear Shock Tower Mount D413

*Hot Bodies Front Suspension Arm Set D413

*Hot Bodies Rear Suspension Arm Set D413

*Hot Bodies Spur Gear 72T D413

Anything else I should look at maybe? Hinge pins? Shock shafts?
