Need advice on brushless emaxx before I buy it
Hi everyone. Need some advice on a older emaxx that has had a novac hv maxx brushless system put in it. It has had steel driveshafts and axle upgrade. Comes with two lipos and stock radio.what would a set up like this be worth? Just don't want to make a wrong move but have been wanting a brushless setup. Thanks.

I always check sold listing on ebay when I want to know the rough value of something.

Imo best advice I can give you is get a RTR one. I thought creeping ebay and the forums for parts would be cheaper. WRONG. Make sure it has castle V2 and mamba monster 2.

I have been rocking an older 3906 such as that for a long time. Right off the bat, there are a handful of mods/upgrades to make before making the 3906 a tough brushless beast.
Here is what you REALLY need to do to make the 3906 reliable:
1. upgraded Robinson Racing slipper ($25)
2. Input shaft pin mod, and lock trans in second gear (free)
3. Steel idler gears in trans (rare to find, but you can mod a $7 gear in)
4. Center CVDs ($25 ebay)
5. 3905 arms, driveshafts, links, carriers (usually about $45-50 total)
6. RPM shock towers ($20)
All that being said, that old novak brushless is pretty weak. The HV Maxx series isn't nearly as powerful as a newer 4S hobbywing setup.
I would appraise the truck listed above at around $175 or so. If you can walk away with it for $150, it might be worth your time. My 3906 Emaxx is tough as nails, but it came at a pretty steep cost. I could have bought a new Brushless RTR Emaxx for all the dough I put in mine. That is part of the fun though. Building the truck up.

I LOVE the 3906 maxx. I will always own it and run it until I cannot source parts. BUT I WOULD NEVER BUY A NEW ONE!!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!
