going to try my hand at 13.5 wheeler. Any cool tricks to get a little more speed from the ZX6? I see some lightweight outdrives on the KyoshoAmerica website. Anyone try these?

Default Gearing

I'm currently running 78/23 with a Hobbywing 6.5 motor and a HobbyWing ESC, Kyosho differential(Not ball diff), and it just seems slow for having a 6.5 motor in it. Is there something on the Hobby Wing esc that I should look at adjusting, or a different gearing? I've been all over the board and I'm just not getting the speed I think I should get for such a fast motor.

Anyone do anything to make front arms stronger or buy aftermarket front arms? I am just not very good. If the only answer is get better then I'll accept it!

You can always try boiling them. If you just need more skill, try going to a slower motor for a while.

I purchased a ZX5 and ran that for a month and arms and shock towers were always what I broke then I upgraded the entire car to ZX6 parts and the breaking issue stopped. Well almost, I still crashed way too much.

Is it still safe to drop $490 on a Kyosho ZX6 from towerhobbies?

I know the RZ6 is coming out the new 2WD buggy from Kyosho.

There is not a new Kyosho Lazer coming out right?

Or should I wait?

It's too new for Kyosho. Also, the ZX6 is not a new car, it's a RB6 and ZX6 hybrid. In fact, they are not releasing the RZ6 as a kit, but as an upgrade for RB6 owners.

Considering switching to a ZX-6 from an XRAY XB4. I run all K cars in everything but wheeler and would like to run one brand. I've also not been having great luck with the new xray car in terms of longevity. Weird transmission issues have developed. I don't wreck much and am usually top 3 at my local track. I don't want to invest in the zx6 if a newer K car is on the horizon. Is the ZX6 sticking around for at least another year? And secondly is it as solid a performer as the XB4?

Thanks.

I haven't seen any XB4's around my area.

As for a new car, tough to say to be honest. I have not heard of anything, but I am usually the last to know, and if you look at pictures from the big races that Jared has attended it his car looks like it just came out of the box except for a few items.

Kyosho generally goes through several revisions of a car before they do a new version. The ZX5 for example had 4 different variants before the ZX6 came out.

Has there been any revisions to the ZX6 yet?
