Default Traxxas Rustler Budget Build ! !

I picked up the roller at a swap meet for 20 bucks, My cousin gave me a used set of wheels and tires for it along with the RX TX so no money spent there, I wet to the LHS and got the wheel hexes and nuts to hold the wheels on, about 12 bucks there, I had the Motor and ESC laying around from a car that has been long gone so I threw it in. The body belonged to a friend that had gotten a new body. The body wasn't in bad shape but the paint on the inside was flaking off really bad so I taped off the windows and the headlights and grill and gave it a good sanding on the outside of the body and laid down a hotrod matte black pait job. After everything I think I have spent a total of maybe on the 40 to 50 dollar range to get it up and running. It aint pretty but what do you want for going from nothing to a RTR car in 3 days. lol I hope I get the pics to work. Let me know what you think.

I really want to turn it into a Bandit. But all I had to work with was Rusty parts so I got a Rustler but I think all I need to get is the body, the wing and wing mount, and the front and rear tires and wheels to transform it into a Bandit.....I think thats all I need.

Nice work.

Traxxas have parts explode view and manuals etc. on their site. Just download the explode of the Bandit and Rustler and compare the two side by side and see which part numbers are different between the two.

Another thing to consider if you require to replace parts to make it into a Bandit, see if RPM make the part you need to replace. RPM make plenty of parts for Traxxas.

other than wheels, tires, body, and the addition of the truck body mount on the front shocktower the bandit and rustler are the same... no chassis differences..

Also a arms, camber links and of course wing mount. I converted my bandit to a rustler, but I rock the bandit body. I like the monster buggy look it has.

RPM list different arms for the Bandit (both front and rear) It however uses the same front arms as the NITRO stampede and rustler.

Running that motor in it u are gonna loose the idler gear(if it isn't metal) and those drive shafts are going to spin off as well, so u might wanna look into some metal outdrives and some steel shafts
And a very nice body for a cheap paint job haha
