Default Mod Buggy Gearing

Hey guys im running the Sonic 13.5 motor for buggy and was wondering what gearing to run. Im running the AVID Triad clutch if that matters any. i have a 75t and a 25t pinion in it currently and it is runs less than 100degrees

Depends a lot on the size of the track you run. How are ESC temps? I'd start by going up 2-3 teeth on the pinion.

25/78 is what I run with a 13.5 in a B4 with Max boost on a tekin. Blinky I run 28/75

Without knowing the vehicle you are running and it's transmission ratio, along with many other factors. I will simply point you to an absolutely beautiful explanation of the theory that took me 20 years to fully understand.
I just found this yesterday.. no kidding.

Giving you old school advice, GEAR UP. There may be other factors but the motor (at the end of a run) is no more than hot coffee HOT thats an indication to gear up and use the power avaliable thats left in the battery, if the motor is "only" (how did you measure that?) 100 then you are barely warm , then you left some power in the battery that could have been used . Power is heat. In or out it's a concept.

13.5 blinky I ran at 72/31-32, add boost and go down a couple teeth. This was with a reedy sonic and timing at 35-40 degrees on the motor. Always came off at about 130-140 degrees.
