With shorties the car weighs quite a bit less. It will accelerate faster,brake in less distance,jump higher,turn faster etc which is great for tighter more technical tracks that dont need a ton of power.Basicly it will be more responsive and nimble feeling. Indoor tracks usually use quite a bit less power so runtime is not normally an issue with the shorties.
With brick or full size batteries the motor will have a little more grunt and have more overall power. The car will be a little lazier in the turns and will feel a little more stable at the expense of some corner speed.

Thanks for the reply. For those of you guys running shortys does there seem to be a sweet spot on where they should be placed in the battery tray. I think I remember Casper saying that him and Ryan ran theirs almost all the way forward?

For the guys running the TI upper shock standoffs, when you shim them out enough so the shock clears the tower is there still a sufficient amount of threads left for the nylon lock nut to catch and do its job? I would think the standoff would get revised do to the move toward 16mm shocks on the 3.0s.

Well I ordered them anyway! At $5 a set I couldn't pass them up. Now that I've got all I wanted ordered I might as well pass on some deals. For any ebay shoppers hopmeup is having a sale on Losi goods. I got the tlr TI shock standoffs for $5 a set, tlr option rear axles for dog bone option for $5, rear option dog bones for $5 and more. It's not my store by any means but figured id share.
