Default Help on Tekno RC8T V4 Conversion

I'm converting a nitro rc8t to electric using Tekno v4 kit. I want to use the mechanical brakes setup, but the motor is sitting too far back because if the brakes. The regular pinion gear won't work. Am I doing something wrong?

You have to use a long shank pinion to use the mechanical brakes.

It's an Associated servo s2008. Now I'm having issues with the steering servo link. The stock one is too long. Do I need a shorter link?
