Default +3mm spacer for sc10 hex wheels?

I have a boat load of 0mm offset wheels that work perfectly fine on the sc10, but I am wanting to know if anyone has found a way to space the hexs 3mm so that it would be equivlent to the +3mm JC wheels? this is with the hex wheel conversion, not the pins.

I think it was either HPI or RPM that included some different thickness 12mm hex spacers you could put inside of the wheels to adjust the offset on their universal wheels.

the problem with widening the track width with just a spacer is that you then reduce the amount of threads on the outdrive that hold the wheel on, which could lead to other issues...

you could probably get away with putting some shims between the hex and rim to widen it a little, but only up to a certain extent though, certainly not +3mm.

Right, I completely agree with you. Which is mainly why I asked the question on here in hopes that someone had come up with some great idea. lol. Maybe, I should just stop being such a cheap skate and just buy some wheels and tires Although I have one other solution I am going to try tonight... The biggest problem is the front. There is plenty of thread to space 3mm on the rear without a problem... The front... not so much..

With todays locking thin wheel nuts that should not be a problem.

heya. the t4 front pinned axles were wider than the sc10/b4 pined ables on the front, soooo maybe the t4 front hex axle is wider? for the rear maybe use the blue washer behind the pin like the pinned rears normally are and just put your hex on with the washer. just food for thought.

Just stick those wheels/tires in the oven and peal off the tires and buy some new wheels

I've been pondering this myself. I'm thinking I might be able to hack the 22 wider hexes onto the SC10. I didn't know about the wider wheel until Maifield told me I had the wrong wheels on mine.

Yup, the grey slash hexes are wider, I use them on my SC10 4x4, but had to drill them out to 6mm(not sure if you are talking about the 2wd or 4wd). I also used Traxxas serrated wheel nuts, but a low profile nut would probably be better. I never had a problem but they are marginal.
