Would you rather have a.....

A) Losi 810E with MIP pro4mance kit

B)losi 810e with losi scte 2.0 chassis, servo mount, mud guards, battery mount, and TLR tuning kit.

So which one for outdoor offroad racing and a tini bit of bashing

by the time you add the stuff to make it a MIP or 2.0, you're into it for more money than you would be if you just bought a true 1/8. go that route.

ah ok. then between your choices i'd go the 2.0 route. don't forget, either way you'll need an SCTE 1.0 center rear driveshaft (which is the front on the 2.0) because an SCTE is longer than the 810.

I ran the 810e for the better part of a season outdoors, while it was great handling, it did lack 1/8 scale durability. Its a great buggy for indoor racing and for smaller tracks or tracks with smaller jumps. The issue you run into is that running a 3s lipo with a 550 5pole or even a 540 4pole adds a bunch of weight, making it less durable than in the SC config, granted the SC format also has a huge body & large bumpers protecting it.

The 2.0 chassis or the MIP chassis while nice are also longer and actually to the point that the 810e w/ either chasiss is too long and not roar legal if that is a concern. You also have to be careful as the total end weight is typically just under roar spec as well. If you are going to run it run it indoor, keep it cheap and deal w/ any issues. If you are outdoors and need 3s lipo maybe swap to the APE battery tray to help lower COG and fit that 3s lipo under the body. If you are racing indoors go w/ a xerun motor w/ 2s lipo and have fun with it and don't bother with any changes. I will say if you want to add a little life to it.. do a 8ight shock mod (see scte forum or there was a thread on this) but w/ the added weight and stress with no bumper protection (even for really good drivers) it helps. Keep in mind ed jr. 1st day racing gets turned around on the track and then bam, you just catch the front axle and first hit you are now broken.
