Tekin Pro 4

Lower the KV more power right?

Hoese37 02-11-2013 05:54 PM

Lower KV, More TQ, less RPM. Its a 4 pole motor so even the higher KV is still torquey as all hell.

Odin544 02-11-2013 05:57 PM

3300 was designed for 3S. If you are running on a tight technical track run the 4000. The 4600 is better suited for big open 1/8 scale tracks. All of them have insane torque.

Thanks guys going in a SCTE or SCT410

RC*PHREAK 02-11-2013 06:17 PM

if you're worried about ROAR regulations, go for it. if you're a club racer, there are better options. tenshock SC411 and hobbywing 3656 are both better options IMO and less expensive as well.

I have had a 4000kv pro4 for a long time and it was a great motor no problems whatsoever and would recommend it, but now I have a 4800kv ReVtech quad 4xs that I like a little more. It just suits my driving style better.

Pvd brett 02-11-2013 08:59 PM

The revtech is a beast. Ive ran a pro4 4000, pro4 4600, and the revtech and man is that thing awesome. it would be my #1 choice period. nothing can compete.

It pushed around an sc truck built off of an rc8.2. same weight as 1/8 buggy, smaller motor, felt exactly like a 1/8 motor

how did it compare to the hobbywing 3656 motors or tenshock motors that you've run?

tc5 man 02-11-2013 09:14 PM

Them Tenshock motors are no joke for the price crazy mid/top end power ! I run a 4600kv on a big track and a small indoor one which im planning to get the 4000kv for more torque.

Although you do need to set the LVC higher because they do demand a High C" and MAH rating lipos.

I would recommend taking a look at the New Tenshock motors when they come in stock im hearing there better than the old ones.

i have not ran either of those, only the pro4's and revtech. I have heard the tenshock has tons of power but nobody around my area runs them. I know tekin and revtech build very solid motors so that eases the mind on using them lol

ok so when you say "nothing can compete" with it, you just mean it's better than the pro-4.

the trinity is one of the few motors i haven't tried in 4x4SC. i've tried:

tenshock SC401: 4600, 5200
tenshock SC411: 4600, 5200
Castle 1410
novak 4.5T 550
pro-4 4600
viper 4500 4 pole 550
Neu 1509
hobbywing 3656: 4000, 4700

Please excuse me then, didnt mean to offend you with my figure of speech....

i forgot i have had the novak 550 4.5t with the bigger rotor as well... it also... could not compete. :D

RC*PHREAK 02-11-2013 10:10 PM

offend? who was offended? stating something not based on fact isn't a "figure of speech". it's just conjecture, subjective, or just not based on real experience. you made a declarative statement that one would naturally assume was based on your experience. upon further questioning, you just said it was better than the one or two other motors you've tried. no big deal. just trying to make sure people who are considering a motor know what's real and what's not. :)

again, the trinity may be a great motor. i can't say because i haven't run it. spec wise, i'd put the tenshock or hobbywing motors up against it any day of the week though.

So your comments are "real" and his are not? Your facts are no more fact than his. Its all personal opinion. What you find is best for you isn't what is best for everyone. I see you are a motor of the week kind of guy though. So I suppose I don't know the facts either since I'm not that type of guy.

If you declare the only motor you've run "the best" without telling people it's the only motor you've run, then yes, you are in the same boat.

I don't think it's asking too much to want to know someone's point of reference when they declare something the best. Of course it's all opinion, but if someone says JConcept tires are the best and they've only run JConcepts tires, and another guy says AKA tires are the best and they've run AKA, Proline, JConcepts, and Panther, I put more weight in the AKA guys opinion. Maybe that's just me.
