Don't overspend on bling.. ie hopups 
RPM plastics are way better than a heavy pile of aluminum.
If you decide to get into racing, keep the rustler for a basher and for fun and pick up a dest210 or 22t or similar to race with

tips for anything on the rustler in general, not just for me but for anyone who needs a thread to read on this type of rc... for we'll call it spirited bashing, all terrain truck fast while beating heat issues if any I hvnt had any knock on wood. 
im all rpm gonna get an flm chassis the thin aluminum one I want it to be tough an by then it'll be rx8 pro 4 powered.. right now rs 13.5, 12.5 hi trq rotor.. also thinking of the pro line chassis I think it could use a little stretch for th driving I do, don't like spinning out.
