I would try the new Spektrum S6240. Same speed as the older 6040, twice the torque and a shorter case. So, we run them and cut down our servo mount to lower it.

Interesting. I may end up biting the bullet on one after all since this is the case. It's just a shame radio companies haven't made this a standard feature in the higher end radios. It has always intrigued me how you can buy a 10 channel air radio like my Futaba 10J with mixing and all the bells and whistles for about half the price of an inferior functioned "high end" ground Tx.
It's as if the vehicle electronics are a decade behind the available technology curve.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the diffs from leaking like a friggin siv. I just rebuilt them and they are leaking after one day out

Ive had my truck nearly 2 years now, my diffs have been leak free since day one. When I built them I sanded the main diff cup flat, used HPI Z449 screws ( 2mm hex head and a hair longer than stock) I put a dab of black Losi grease around the gasket and they have been leak proof. I also have MIP diff kits inside them, but I doubt they have anything to do with the leak proff-ness.

Are they leaking on the gear side or non gear side? Or both?

The reason I ask is it can be two totally different problems that could be causing it. I would start with a new h d diff case with the integrated inserts, and also new out drives. The key normally is to not put too much oil in when building the diff. Make sure you put all gears in the case and then with you thumb press down on the top gear and swipe from one side to the other wiping off all oil. Do it several times to make sure all excess oil is removed. Been doing ours like this since the 2.0 scte came out and it never leaks. Build according to the Manuel and remove excess oil like I stated above and all should be good. It will leak some once the gear case and out drives are worn but this takes a while to happen. At that point just replace.

Did you grease the outdrives before you put them back in? Did you use new O rings? Putting the outdrives back in dry could've caused a tear in the O rings. Are your screws tightened up properly?

I greased the outdrives...used some green slime on the orings, the longer screw etc.

I just purchased a used roller from a buddy at my local track because i know TLR will be coming out with a 3.0 or something new in the near future, I can feel it So like we all would do, I'm going to strip it down and replace all worn out parts, but i also want to upgrade what should be upgraded.
