So, if I went from the current Dunford diff setup (5/7/5) to (5/5/5), it sounds like I could get a little more steering entering corners and it would tame the truck a little on corner exit, right? What is the negative of this? What do I lose?

Had to order center drive shafts, both front and rear today. Are they the same as the 1.0 just in reversed postion? I.e. the 1.0 front center shaft is the same as the 2.0 rear center shaft

Yes. They are exactly the same parts, just installed in opposite sides.

Just curious btw.. why are you replacing your shafts?

Did the driveshaft pin shear or pop out?

Also need to rebuild my shocks for they be leaking. What is the correct part number for the cap seals? I like the ones that pull down over the threads on the shock body and not the ones that sit under the cap like a bladder would.

You would just lose a little bit of forward drive at initial throttle. Its kind of like loosening up the slipper of a buggy.

I hope you guys don't mind me asking random questions every once in a while.

I'm wondering what people are doing with their tires and wheels as far as letting air out? Most just using a leather punch and making a couple holes?

Reason I ask is I found 3 sets of my tires pretty full of dirt....I use to wash them....big mistake I think.
Now I'm taping off the holes in wheels if they have them and was just going to do one hole in the tire, but a small slit with an x-acto seems like it would work well too. ?

I tape the hole on the wheel and make two holes on the tire with a leather punch. A cut is not the best idea as it will continue ripping at the end.
If you are careful a drill also works.

I'm probably the exception, but since you asked...

I do not put holes in the tire - I use holes in the rims but I glue filters (made from gun cleaning patches or old denim jeans) to the inside of the wheel to keep dirt from getting in the wheels. When I wash my tires, I always hold the wheel so water doesn't get in the holes in the rims. End result: no dirt or water in my tires. Here's a pic of two wheels (1/10 buggy and SCT) with filters on them:



I have occasionally used tires with holes in the tire (that I got second hand, or premounts) and they still end up with dirt inside.

Hey guys/Casper my center diff out drive seem to be sloppy. Well actually the front center drive shaft looks a bit bent and my truck had a horrible vibration. So I pulled the center diff and the out drive seem to move side to side


Well 24 hrs no ones suggestions so ill add details.
I had a 1.0 sold it because Its cheaper just to buy one of these. Rather than upgrade. Well I bought a used scte 2.0 that's in good shape the previous owner put the Tekno center drive shafts on ( are these better?) I noticed the front one has a slight bend. Well if I apply throttle it creates a horrible vibration. I started to follow it from the center drive to the center diff. The center diff out drives seem to be rather sloppy in how much they move. I noticed that the diff bearing mount to the plastic case. Unlike the eight 2.0 I have the diff out drive goes into the bearing. Has any one else noticed this?

I have the TLR balance unit ... and yes it smooth out the Truck or car. Stays planted well and doesn't shake itself to peace's. Tip: Vent the tire NOT the rim. 2 holes are plenty. If you have holes in rims, tape them to seal out dirt. Never dunk your tires under water to clean, just brush off the outside.
