I've had three scte trucks. One of which I converted to mip. No doubt scte 1.0 was a solid platform. I wanted to try something that came out of the box ready to race. To really make the 1.0 a true race truck additional TLR items were needed. Now that the 2.0 comes with all the TLR hop ups and comes as a kit....I think they hit it outta the park.
Bottom line....is one better than the other, that's for you to decide. I'm sure the 2.0 will be on the podium in 2013 as will others. Whichever decision you make, your getting a top level sc race truck....IMO.

After looking at "THE OTHER TRUCK" i wasnt that impressed since its all plastic to where with the 2.0 comes with the tuning kit options, CF shock towers, Milled chassis, 2 sets of rims and a body for only $50 more i didnt see why "THE OTHER TRUCK" is priced so high so i stuck with the 2.0

And as everyone said, go with your gut or drive one locally if you can to see which fits but for part availability, and customer service i had no reason to steer away from Losi/TLR/HH

I've been reading this thread for weeks now and finally built myself a 2.0 and raced it for the first time yesterday. It was the Pot O' Gold race at AMS Raceway in Grand Blanc, MI (Dakota Phend's home track). Dakota was there and I was happy to get 2nd to him (by only half a lap). Having run the 1.0 truck for about a year now, I was amazed at how different the 2.0 felt. It was much more stable, predictable and easier to drive FAST than the 1.0. While I had my doubts initially since my 1.0 had all the mods, I'm a true believer in the new 2.0 now. Great job on this truck TLR!!!

Default tightness of lower shock caps

I was able to get my lower shock caps to thread and it took quite a bit to tighten them down. Question, are others finding that they must not tighten them all the way? Reason I ask is the shocks bind if I get them close to being fully tightened.

I used the search function and couldn't find the answer to this question.

They should tighten all the way flush with the aluminum shock body if they're on correctly. It's tough because they were molded a little too tight. If the shock is binding, however, I'm guessing maybe you haven't loaded the spacer and/or o-ring in the bottom of the shock correctly. Mine bottom shock caps were tight going on, but the shocks were smooth as could be once all assembled. You might also want to check that the pistons can spin freely on the shock shaft. This can be accomplished by tightening the locknut all the way, and then backing it off just a fraction of a turn. You should be able to turn the piston easily with your fingers if done properly.

Looks like you're ready to go power wise! 7200mAh will go a long way in this truck. I used between 3000 and 3500mAh yesterday for a 5 minute race with a couple warm up laps at the beginning. That's running a Tekin Pro4 4600kV with a 14 tooth pinion through my RX8 speed control.
