Thanks for the suggestions. It turned out to be a small imperfection in the transmission case. I cleaned it up with an xacto knife.

Is it possible or worth it(cost wise) to turn this 4.2 into a mid motor configuration?

If its possible and worth it is there a page in this thread that goes over what i would need to buy?

I'll try this question.
Chassis, transmission, shock tower and some shorty packs to start.
You may find a complete kit, with some looking.

Seeing that Panther Step Pins for stadium trucks are not in stock anywhere; I fear they are discontinuing them. I am thinking about going to my backup plan of running HPI rear/Slash 4x4 offset wheels with Badlands/Gladiator tires (my combo that I run on all my trashing SC10s) to be as close to the same width as running Associated ST wheels.

Anyone ever run wider offset SC wheels/tires on their T4s?

Default SC and Me

At least I got a plan when my supply of old school Step Pins/Ribbed tires are gone. I will be giving up a few millimeters in width with the SC tires and wheels, but it'll work...

Default OMG!

With a fresh set of short course Badlands tires on the rear of the T4; Gladiators up front, the truck was handling the rough track much better than I had anticipated. My first thoughts were that the heavier rubber would totally numb a stadium truck's nimbleness. The truck was such a blast to drive, I may not put my normal ST wheel/tire combo back on this year! I do have a ever so slight push with the Badlands gripping hard , but will soften up the front some to try and regain lost steering while running medium compound tires up front. The sharp edges of the large knobby rear tires won't last forever.

On a rutted up out door track, the Bad Lands are KILLER.
Also much less breakage,too!
I didn't like my Gladiators at all.

The Gladiator SC are not my favorite tire, especially when using them on the rear of my SC10s. Doing so, I can wear them out in short amount of time on my track even though they are M2 (medium) compound. There is just something about the pebbles in my track that chews up some tires faster than others. But, I'm on my 4th year of using the Gladiator SC tires on the front of my one SC10, and 2nd year of using them on my SC10.2.

Default Shims

After doing a tear down; cleaning, and re-lube, I've come to notice the front caster blocks having a lot of forward/aft movement.... a good millimeter and a half at least.

I'm currently waiting on my mail lady to (hopefully) deliver my package of shims. I used to be obsessed with tightness of parts (without binding of course), but I have become more relaxed with shimming since I got away from racing. I used to use aluminum shims and spacers, then switched to plastic, and later I just used whatever is laying around in pitbox. Maybe my slop OCD is creeping back to me.

When shimming, what material does everyone use for their shims?

Whatever I have that fits My T4's were always sloppy though. Even when shimmed nicely I felt they had more slop than I liked, so I just ran them until it was really bad then replaced parts and started over.

You can use electric motor shims. They have 1/8 " diameter holes and available in many thicknesses.
Brass and even Teflon ones.

It seems associated and all other sources are out of the 7854 axle for hexes. I have the sc10 steering and bearings, but I cannot source the axle. Anyone have a source?

I have looked everywhere for those axles as well. Even the JConcepts ones are gone. RonF, you racing with your T4?
