7.4 volts to steering servo?
#1

Hi all
This is simple on nitro, yet with a ESC and a 4s Lipo not so much when the ESC like the RX8 can only at max give the rx 6 volts.
I know I would have to use a external BEC like the Castle creations BEC to take power from the power leads going to the esc and use that to get 7.4 to the reciever to power the servo.
Question is what Amp Bec? What one do others use with out a problem? Seems like amain has a castle creations 10am, but not sure if that is enough hooked to a 4s lipo.

Use an adapter from the balancing lead.

The castle BEC can take the input from your 4S (I believe up to ~20v or so(read specs to be sure)), and has adjustable output (via the castlelink) to provide your 7.4v.
Can then pull the red wire from your RX8, and run the Castle BEC directly into your receiver (check your receivers max voltage spec).
