Thankfully my Gens Ace packs are still pretty strong.

Gens Ace were great value maybe a year or two ago, but not anymore. You can get very good lipos with higher mah and C ratings these days. I've moved onto Valuehobby.com lipos. Pretty happy with them for their price.

Them G-Force 2s lipos are pretty good lots of punch . Never get warm after a run on my SCTE.

I've also noticed their "out of stock" batteries are cheaper than the "in stock" batteries of VERY similar specs. Check 'em out, you'll see.

I hope everyone is aware that there are only a few number of Lipo battery manufacturers in the world. With that said all of these battery suppliers, SMC, Hobbyking, Hobbypartz, Fantom, Trinity, etc. all buy from the same manufacturers. They order in bulk and pay bulk pricing. That pricing can fluctuate greatly based on the old supply and demand theory. Popular battery pricing is going to increase as demand outweighs the supply. Be happy that you are paying, what I think is a relatively cheap price for lipos, compared to other manufacturers. Take a look at a similar spec Orion, Reedy, Revtech, or other major name lips. They are twice the price!

hobbyking does the same thing with reviews. I posted about the dead battery I got 3 times and it got pulled down all 3 times. I never slammed them or used bad language.

their prices are all over the place on hobby partz.
here's one for $32

The price has gone up because of demand. Why sell something for $24 and be out of stock half the time when you can sell the same number of them for $50?

Remember that 5 years ago $60 for a 6-cell pack was a good price and you needed 5 of them per vehicle, and they'd only last 6 months before they needed to be replaced with fresh ones. Good lipos are a bargain at $100.

They're clearly just playing the game given the popularity of the 40c (due to Jang's review I'm sure.)
Yeah, I doubt it because of Jangs review. That guy is a f****** moron. He should not be doing reviews. It shouldnt take him ten minuets to finish a sentance.

Removing post I just left - not worth arguing about! Made the thread just so everyone was aware of the value-shift in these batteries.

Cheers and have a good weekend everyone! A drizzly rainy day here in Fresno California. Looks like our touring-car racing will be a no-go this weekend

These lipos are still competitive as far as price. Sure it's a irritating factor for anyone to spend more money on a item. I don't buy HK products because they have poor customer service. If a price increased was to support a customer service response division then it's worth a extra coin. Now back to the real world

+1 on the G-Force lipos. I bought two of the 2S 5900mah 60C lipos and am pretty happy with them. They are a tad bit heavier than my Gens Ace 5000mah 40C packs but the tradeoff for capacity and a bit more punch in my SCTE was worth it.

I stopped buying "expensive packs" after having some SMC packs that puffed easy and Orions that did not impress me. I'm mixed on Turnigys, they have bit hit or miss with me.

It is up to you the consumer to spend your money wisely. If you don't like the price you can check out a competitor's product and see if it fits your budget.

The company's that are in retail sales shouldn't have to worry about when to change their retail prices. They can do it whenever they want and to whatever they want.

I think enough has been said about this topic.
