is there any reason to buy a RS Pro rather than a RS when running a 1/10 2wd buggy?

Nope an RS will do just fine. Unless you plan on running something lower then a 3.5 turn

How about future classes? For a little extra coin, you will have security for any future classes you may run

I'm quite confident i'll run 2wd for a long time. The RSx should come out too so if i need a speedo in the future I'll rather choose this one.

What is actually the real motor limit of the RS? I read 5t, 7.5t.. Will the rs pro run cooler than a rs with let's say a 8,5 motor?

Who knows. I've run a 6.5 in a 2WD buggy with an RS without out issue. I've run the same combo in a 4WD buggy without issue as well. The Pro just stays cooler.

6.5 in 4wd with an RS? Then it should definitely be good for any 2wd application
