Before my track expanded we were doing 16 second lap times, now a fast lap in mod buggy is a 24.xxx

Hideeho
Currently we are at 17-18 second laps. Last layout we were at 15 second laps. We had a layout a while back that we were getting 13 second laps (1/8 were only hitting 12 ).

On a more thread specific note, your car did seem to do pretty well with all the flat landings. Big bores really help with that huh?

oh man, I was rough with down siding stuff. because the grip was hit and miss still, I found myself either over shooting or coming up short. That was the B main. I did bump to the A and ran alot cleaner because i changed my approach to alot of the jumps. I was driving it too much like the 4wd vehicles were and not like I should have been.

The big bores are a godsend out there. I was running 1.7 37.5 / 35 but with the temp drop, it was prolly like 5 wt heavier LOL. I am going to try the 1.6's this weekend and eventually the tapered pistons.

Fast laps on the track so far for 2wd were done by Gunnar, he hit a few low 27's. I think Francis hit mid 27's. I hit high 28's. I suspect when groove comes up, you'll see lap times in the 26's with 4wd mod dipping into 25's.

Our only indoor track 2wd usual times is 14, super fast is 13. 4wds hit 12's. we just changed the track so will see new times this Tuesday.

Anyone notice a difference between the avid triad slipper and the associated vts that is in the 4.2 kit?

Triad is easier to adjust ,
stays more consistent run after run...
It can be adjusted looser and still delivers great punch ...

The VTS has to be cleaned after three to four races where the Triad can go many races before cleaning ..

No complaints with my triad so far and i have ran it for a long time now about since its been out, on the original pads and plates, Never really needs adjusting after its set. I pretty much dont even check it anymore before a run, maybe once when i get to the track but i have found its not necessary since it doesnt seem to get out of adjustment.

When i do check it, its very quick blurps with the throttle and as long as it lifts about 2 inches im happy with the setting. I do not hold the throttle on and overheat it and if i did it would go higher then 2 inches with how they work.

Don't forget its much lighter. less rotating mass = more speed.
If you run stock classes try the MIP lightened top shaft too..
i did the maths last year it equates to about a 23% decrease in rotating mass of the transmission. we have a 40 m straight at our club and this gave me the ability to run 69/35 gearing with a fantom ion 3 17.5.... had the fastest car by a long way! and with a motor that was always way way under temp

I got my B4.2 friday night and had it built saturday morning! First race with it was Sat evening! I have to say, it has been 2 years since I wheeled a buggy and the last 2 years have been racing ST and SCT primarily so my driving skills were horrendous... That being said the buggy was tremendous! I had an ear to ear grin every time I was on the stand! It jumps, turns, you name it does it well!!! I am running box stock setup except I shaved the u brace and switched to avid shock pistons. Love it! I will be focusing on the buggy as much as possible and racing the ST now and then... Poor 22SCT is gonna sit for a while!

Anyone that can help me?
Posted it also in the big bore section but got no responds.

Anyone that has a good (shock) setup for an outdoor track with small jumps but pretty bumpy.
With a layer of dust on it. also some parts are carpet/astro.

Goosebumps rear with groovy green up front worked pretty good.
But could use some more steering in the 180° degree corners.

The rear of the car might need some heavier oil, it's bouncing a bit.

I'm now running the stock setup from the B4.2

I have never been on a mix of astro, dirt and grass, lol. But I am not sure what you mean you rear is bouncing. The whole thing hops? That would mean you need lighter oil. The motor looks like a yoyo going up and down while the wheels stay planted? Then maybe heavier oils. I would probably get the taper pistons for that track. That dirt looks like dirt dirt and not clay. You might need to soften the front a little.

The fast guy hit a 12.9 or so on my track, I'm only down to 13.3 or so.
