First time SCT - What do I get for my blitz?
#16
Hobbywing 60amp esc and a tacon 3200 kv motor is all ou will need the esc is $42 on fleebay and the motor is $32 at Hobby parts. I have een using that combo on two scb's and on two 22's and on two sct's for over a year without a single problem. Yes thats right six HW esc's and six tacon motors. I have two esc's and two more motors in my spare box just incase new in the box.
Should I just buy the Velineon setup that comes stock in the Slash VXL for $150~pp and be done with it?

That SC8-WP is much stronger and more versatile than the Velineon, I'd go for it.

Righteo, so I shouldn't have any issues with the physical dimensions of the motor? I can't for the life of me find what actually fits the blitz.
I've read I'll need to choose a pinion gear and choosing wrong could burn out my ESC or the motor? Is 19T going to be about right do you think? The spur is 88t.

The Castle Sidewinder 3 will be waterpoof. that is, if you feel like waiting for it.

Gearing depends on track size, and the kv of the motor you get. With the 4000 I would start at 25T with the 88 spur if it fits.
You have to check your motor and esc temps in the first few minutes, but they should not break a sweat in this light truck.
