Default Slash 2wd gearing help!

I wanting to get the most out of my slash as a basher rig. I want her to be fast but be controllable as well. I'm not sure on what gearing I should run. RIght now she has the Vxl velineon motor and a hobby king ezrun esc.

I'm also considering changing out the motor to a castle one but am unsure of which to go with.

I ran a castle setup both 4600kv and 5700kv and ran 17/90. Good luck with control. Lol. Stay away from 3s because 5700kv and 3s the body will become a parachute and she will fly.

The higher the Kv motor you have the faster you should be. Also check out the gearing chart in your Slash manual. the lower the inal Drive Ratio the faster you gearing should be.
Just dont forget the higher the Kv rating the less Acceleration you will have, the same applies to your gearing just in reverse order.

17/90 to 18/86 is where is I ran mine. That was for bashing. Lots of parking lot, gravel pit backyard running. I ran everything from 3500kv vxl to 5700kv 4 pole. 17/90 was the best all around ratio for me. Nothing getting out of line as far as temps.

okay i'll try that gearing,

today i was bashing around and one of the motor connectors came loose, put them back together and it seems as if all the power is gonig to the right back wheel ? the left side turns but barely.

Also what motor did you like the best for bashing? I love going fast but i don't wanna burnout my esc or motor while bashing. I want something with power.
