Default Slash 2wd Vxl esc help!!

Hey guys having some trouble with my slash 2wd brushless, has the vxl in it.

Couple weeks ago iI cracked the chassis while jumping her so i ordered a new one replaced it best kind was running 2s at the time. SO decided to try 3s and after fixing the chassis and charging the battery hooked up the 3s lipo and she won't go in reverse, the ESC starting smoking when I held reverse and also she will go forward at about 70% for 30seconds or so and then she stops and will barely move at this point the ESC is flashing red but the lipo isn't dead, steering is fine. Is it fried?

WIll traxxas replace it? Or should I just buy another? I'm almost positive the motor is fine.
Been looking into the hobby king Ez Run but am not positive on which way to go about this..

If it started smoking it's probably "done." Check reprogramming the ESC and make sure the lipo cutoff is ON. If that doesn't work, I'd contact Traxxas and see if they'll replace. Also I know that VXL's don't like 3s too well. I know as I have 3 of them. Been running w/2s w/no problem and changed gearing. I went w/Castle 3800 and it is a BIG difference and can handle 3s.

WHats your gearing on your slash? and yeah i ordered a hobby wing 120A brushless esc, which id rated for up to 4s, so 3s should be fine i'm hoping.

Traxxas may replace it... call them to see.

Once you let the smoke out you can not put it back. The esc is done.

I think they will replace it for $90.00 if you send it in for the system or like $40.00 or $50.00 for the Esc.

Okay thanks.

Something I noticed as wel before i encountered the esc trouble was that at low speed(when wheels aren't touching a surface) only the right back wheel will spin and the left one doesn't start spinning until about 3/4 throttle...

I'm guessing something is loose, or wore but am unsure as to what it is, any help ?

That's either something going on in your diff or there is some serious binding on that wheel.

Did you notice any power loss in the system before it blew?

Ahh cant really say for sure because before i broke the chassis I was running 2s lipo and then after replacing the chassis i tried running a 3s and she seemed fine for a couple minutes without reverse, never got to see the full potential of 3s so not really sure about that. She was very fast though which i assume she shouldve been
