Default Just ordered SCT410

Hi,

I just ordered my sct410 and it should be delivered this Thursday. I was ready to order the Losi 2.0 but then saw all the positive reviews for this truck on amainhobbies website and bougtht it instead!!! Only shorth course truck I have ever used is my sc104x4 and can't wait to give this one a try.

I have an RX8 with Pro4 (4000kv) in my sc10 and am planning on using them in this truck....although I also have a brand new sc411 (4600kv 4pole 550 size sensored motor) that I was planning on putting in my stampede. I also bought a new set of 4 (premounted) D3's on hazard wheels for my sc10 4x4....will they fit on this truck??

I'm just starting to go through the 500 thread pages, but would appreciate any tips or hints on the build or choice of electronics.

Thanks,

Manny

I took a fluid dynamics class senior year and asked this exact question and my professor answered it the next day in class... on a rough/blown out track you TECHNICALLY emulsion will be better as it is smoother and will soak up more which will give you more traction. You have to have a small amount of air in the shock.. not bubbles, but air so that the shock doesn't hydrolock when compressed.. the tricky part with emulsion is getting the shocks to feel the same. If one shock has more air than the other, you will end up with a shock that feels like 28.5 wt and the other 30 wt. On a smoother track bladders/vented is technically a better choice. Bladder shocks rely on the bladder and air compression for rebound.. For me, emulsion was tricky to get the same feeling for each shock. I've seen people run emulsion on high bite and I've run bladder on blown out, to each his own.

Videos that will help with the build here:

SCT410 Build Videos

I am running an RX8, Pro4 4600, and AE DS105 servo. Truck rocks with this setup, I'm even running at 65% current limit and it is lots of power.

I'm running the Orion R10pro and novak 4.5 550 can.. awesome setup. I run on a med-high bite indoor track and I haven't seen above 120 on the motor or esc yet.

I've heard/read great things about orion, but just not a fan at all for a novak (seen way to many things go wrong with them at my local track). It's down to either a full tekin setup (rx8/pro4), Hobbywing SCT combo, or possibly Viper copperhead if I decide to go the cheapest route lol......... But thanks on the info......

i thought the same initially, but running on the tight indoor carpet track with the 4600Kv motor had more than enough gearing range. You can see some vids of it on youtube.

Thanks,
Cheapest I think overall is tower hobbies combined with the membership discount. It can range between $349.99 and 359.99 depending if you need to buy the membership ($10) at the same time.

The Emulsion shock has an advantage when landing a jump the truck or buggy wont pop back up this will allow you to drive away faster more traction better in bumps. I used bladders to in my Schumacher cars for years and buggys and truggys. Recently 4 months ago my teammates asked me to try it I switched to emulsion and love it. The car is a lot more in contact with the track.
