Mugen Prospec vs. 777 sp1

Very cliche topic, I know. However, I have a NIB 777 and my friend just got a Prospec. So we can share parts, set-ups, etc. we thought that maybe we should get the same car. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each car compared to each other? We're both relatively new to this class, but not RC.

Hey Breakin, You got two totally diffrent beast's there. The 777 sp1 is a really reactive car out of the box. The prospec is a very neutral out of the box. Both cars are very capable of being set up to do either orr but in my opinion the 777 is less forgiving, If you've driven on road, or if you've driven 1/10 stadium truck youll be fine. I do recommend you get diffrent chassis braces, because the stock one's do flex a little. Build the 777 with the 22degee hubs and use 5,000-7,000-and 1,000 weight oil as a starting point. if you have any questions pm me. for i have both of these buggies. C.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I actually decided to get the Prospec just because I like the idea of the Mugen being more forgiving. I know the 777 steers like crazy, but I think I'll start with the Mugen since I'm new to the class.

mbx 5 or 777

i have raced my mbx5 since last year with a few prospec parts such as front and rear chassis braces, thicker shock towers ect.. to be honest, it's the best buggy i have ever hade. I have broken a few parts from ruff racing..but thats the nature of rc racing. Parts are easy to get a hold of, and very easy to work on. On the other hand the 777sp1 is a great buggy to, but kyosho parts cost a little more than mugen parts.
