I've tried the medium plastics and anything other than extreme loose conditions, I don't think they are worth the effort. The medium front arms do offer a nice tuning option for the front, say indoor clay when you need a touch more steering.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good machine shock piston for a 2018 xb4?

I love this car but I still can't seem to get my suspension dialled like on my b64.

Try using the Avid or Schelle shock pistons.
I have the Schelle 2x1.6 hole pistons and then drilled (2) 1.1 holes as by-pass holes in them and using for my 16 XB4
Car is super stable and planted.

I have a strange problem. I ran my XB4 for the first time on carpet this past weekend with a 6.0 mod motor. The car felt fine but the majority of my runs, at about 4 minutes in, one of the front wheel nuts would fly off along with my wheel. I am running the stock 4mm serrated nut, 1 slot hub, stock drive axle and premounted Schumacher wide stagger tires. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I am thinking of using blue loctite and seeing if that solves the problem if nothing else.

get these https://www.amainhobbies.com/yokomo-...-n4flt/p541494 the serrations are really aggressive. I doubt you would have one come loose again.

This happened to me as well. It was the result of a damaged wheel, although the wheel seemed ok. Change the wheel and see if it goes away.

When you mount the Schumacher wheels onto hub, see if there's still a gap, you might be running out of thread engagement and need to use a washer against the wheel and serrated nut.

Just picked up a used 18, does anyone know if my YZ4 SF body will fit? I know that someone slightly modified a xb4 body to put on the sf, just curious if the reverse is possible.

Thanks! I'll try a set. It got so bad that I ran a 13.5 motor instead just so that I could finish a heat. With the milder motor I didn't have another wheel fly off so I'm thinking it has to do with wheel flex from the additional force of the mod motor and the nut serrations disengaging lap after lap until it finally completely unscrewed.

I had the same thing happen at the Reedy Race this year. It was mostly happening under braking. Once it happens typically the hex on the wheel is shot so you'll need to replace the wheel and definitely go with some other type of lug nut. Also get them on as tight as you can. I ended up going with a locknut.

Have a used 2018 being shipped to me as we speak. I am going to go through the car and freshen it up. Any Suggestions on which wear parts to replace? I’m going to start with the shocks, diffs and slipper. Can anyone confirm if a associated spur/pads and associated xrings will fit? Has anyone ever tried yokomo yz4 sf spurs or xrings? I’d like to support my LHS if possible and they don’t stock X-ray sadly
