I ran my 5.5 everywhere as well. But when I had to take it out for repairs and I put my 7.5 in to run on a particularly loose track, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the bottom end on the 7.5 felt on the loose stuff. Added some boost and was money.

Still love the rip of my 5.5 though

yeah a 5.5t screws in a 4wd buggy

I run a 6.5t in my 2wd everywhere and honestly that might even be a little faster, as far as acceleration on carpet/astro anyway.

Yeah I have the Orion VST2 5.5t in my wheeler now but plan on ordering another 6.5t as I felt like they both had about the same amount of overall top end speed. the 6.5t had a much smoother range of low end power, even on a med/high grip track so it was just easier to drive.

i find the 5.5t is faster, epecially on astro/carpet which i do run on so my 5.5t isn't going anywhere. its perfect

I agree on pure ramp up speed but I can get the same top end speed with my 6.5t as I can with my 5.5t as I just got to pinion up alittle more. I just feel like overall I have a better round with a 6.5t over a 5.5t even if the 5.5t will give me the fastest lap time overall. I guess I am just more consistent with the 6.5t. So I am on the lookout for a orion 6.5t now that outdoor season is almost over with and ill be moving indoors soon.

I run a LRP 6.5 on turf and I wanted to know what everyone is running for gearing and any recommendations would be helpful. The track is inside and its 40x70 feet.

I'm going to buy this buggy in a day or two. What KV motor would you guys best recommend? I'd like a balance of both speed and torque, maybe 65% speed and 35% torque. Intend on running on dirt and pavement.

I get what you mean, but for me if I gear down 1-2 teeth I can get the same torque out of my 5.5t as a 6.5t. I just prefer to have the motor there when I need it and a 5.5t has been perfect. But I understand what you mean, sometimes I have to turn my EPA down 10% or so because the 5.5t is just a little too much.

Also I actually find slightly less torque better on clay because it forces me to roll on the power and be smoother, which then gives me more traction. Because I'm not just squeezing the trigger and pointing and shooting. I'm carrying speed and rolling on the power as to make the best use of the torque my motor has etc...if that makes any sense.

This has been answered in like the past couple of pages and many times in this thread and many other threads dude.

Shoot for like 20-21, I run 17-20 on my 5.5t (typically 18), so 21 or so should work well with a 6.5t.

Keep in mind that I am new to Xray and the 4wd buggy platform all together.
I am assuming that the 30, 45 and 50 on the slipper spring indicates that the 50 would be the stiffest and 30 the softest. My '15 has the 45 spring and the SLS slipper pads. I have the slipper all the way loose and do not hear any slip. I have yet to tune the car at the indoor carpet track I race at. Car is setup for rear motor with a Thunder Power 6.5 and HW V2.1 esc. Gearing at the moment is 81/20. Any input on which spring I should be using would be greatly appreciated.

I know this wont answer your question but If I was you I would be looking for a center diff. Myself I would run a center diff on any track anywhere as I am always faster and more consistent with a center diff. I Know I am not the only one that has said that the center diff was one of the best upgrades you can do to this car.

I do have a brand new 16 spec slipper I would be willing to sell and I know the new 16spec slipper is better then the 15 from what I have heard< i just have no need for it as like i said i always run a center diff. I also have a brand new ball diff that I would sell that can be ran upfront like most people do or the rear. let me know

I see the gear diff advertised in Amain, but it states '2015 model only'. Can someone please confirm the part number for the gear diff for the 2016?

Also, I've seen a lot of people say they feel the car turns better with the gear diff (at least I got the impression looking through past posts), but is this consistent with current thinking for clay (OCRC)?

I'm going to try the 500,000 to potentially 1,000,000 center diff like as Bent recommends. I will take their word for it as they are very experienced with this winning buggy and how it likes to be ran.

My question is, do any other 4wd buggies frequently run this heigh oil weight of oils weight in medium bite to high bite clay? Im new to 4wd but from what I've seen for 10th scale 4wd' has been, at most from what I see, upper teens.

Unless I'm wrong and with a limited sample pool, what makes the xb4 take such higher weight oils and why? What makes the xb4 different? Thx all
