Im kind of at a loss with what to do and where to go with it.

Track: Small, tight very high grip. 10-11 second lap times.
Temp: Southern Alabama so right now were looking at 100+ ambient temps.
Electronics: SMC 160A, SMC 6.5 (did have RSX and Gen 3 6.5 but epic meltdown happened)
Kit: Brand new, super free drive train nothing binding, gear mesh properly set. Fan on ESC, Fan on motor. Schumacher minipins/cut staggers
Can you run a fan and go down on spur gear size?

Emmett, what's your timing on your motor? Any boost added in the ESC?

Timing on the motor is set to 20 I believe, and I run the ESC in blinky.

That is normal. Mine also rubs slightly but it doesn't affect anything. I used a little chassis protector in the area to protect the paint.

depending on which servo horn you use you may need to cut a hole in the body. I use the 3 hole hudy servo horn and had to cut a hole and dremel an aesthetically pleasing shape for the servo horn to move in.

I just ground down the Hudy servo horn, basically removed the outer hole.

You can do that as well but at the time I had to cut a hole in the body with a body reamer because I was at the track and did not have a dremel to grind it down at that moment. Either method works. Kind of lame that you have to do that but not a deal breaker, that's for sure...just use some sharpy on the ground down servo horn tip

Any pics of yours? I wanna see how it came out...and did you use a cutting wheel or a grinding stone?

i finished building now and it is really tight fit for the wires when trying to put the body on. i had to tie down every wire because they were hitting the body and it wasnt sitting flush. i did eventually get it. i put a 13.5 motor in it and it feels a bit slow to me.

overall though i love the buggy. it seems to handle pretty well. a little better than my xb2 but i have my xb2 pretty dialed for my driving style.

hopefully it doesnt rain tomorrow and i get to drive it. it was so late by the time i finished building it that i only got to drive for 10 minutes or so.

1 addtional thing i wanted to ask. i hit the throttle with all 4 wheels in the air and one wheel moved up and down. it drives fine when its on the ground, just when the arms are fully extended down, did it do this

If you are running a slipper make sure it isn't too loose, I had the same issue and gearing changes didn't make a difference until I tightened it. Be carefull not to go too tight though or you'll start breaking expensive items...

Check to make sure the out drive on the wheel that shake has the small pin in the right hole. When I built mine I put the pin in the larger hole on part number 365230 and the wheel shook a lot

really? my slipper is set to 0mm (all the way loose) and I NEVER hear it slip with a 5.5t motor on carpet and clay...

taking the slipper apart shows very very minimal and light scuffing. it's noticeably barely ever slipping. and since i never hear it im sure it only slips for a split second.

Yeah, mine is at 0mm also. I run on high bite clay and my car will pop wheelies.

yeah that has been my experience as well. i've never seen an XB4 that could have a loose slipper. it would be nice if we had a little more adjust ability considering even 0mm seems too tight...

i have the mckune pads, do you think those would allow for more slip or less? i have yet to try them...
