Xray XB4 thread

For those that are running 13.5 class with your XB4, what are you running for gearing? I've searched, and seen most are dropping their spur gears down a few teeth. Is this 100% necessary? Can you reach good gearing & speed with the stock spur? If it matters, I have a 2014 xb4. And have a speed passion 13.5 motor I'm throwing in to try the class out.
If anyone has any experience, please share.

I am in the same boat. my car is way way to stiff for the us tracks and cant find these medium chassis braces anywhere. was hoping that parts for the car would get here as the kits are here already. You would think that the parts would come with the kits but from the looks of things they did, or atleast havent posted them yet but posted the kits in stock...

For 13.5 a 7.0 FDR is a good starting place. So on the XB4 if you used a 78 spur with a 28 pinion combined with the transmission ratio of 2.5, you would have a 6.96 FDR.
I am just getting my XB4 together but we have a really fun 13.5 scene locally and I was running 28/84 on my 22-4 which has a 2.3 TR, giving me a 6.9 with 40* timing and the motor was barely heating up. I could have easily have gone up a tooth or two if needed but the car was nice and fast.
So that's what I would start with. If you want to use the stock spur, it's an 81 so a 29 pinion would give you a 6.98

I,m wondering whats going on with the xb4 16 spare parts, normally you would think parts arrived at the same time as the kits which seems not to be the case, i sent Amain an email asking when they expect to have parts and the response was theres nothing on our back end so its not looking any time soon, that seems a very strange response, i also tried here in Australia and strangely enough no one has any thing for the 16, whats more concerning is no one can even provide an ETA. I need a spur gear and the shops overseas that have the spur are asking ridiculous shipping price $30 postage for a $12 part seems excessive.

There's nothing "going on" with spare parts.
They have been readily available since the release of the kit.
When lists where sent out with part numbers for the new kit and spare/option parts every distributor could order as many as they wanted.
First come first serve.
However with the indoor season starting up now I know people have been stocking up on parts.
And with arms, bulkheads and towers being new and updated I know a lot of people have bought parts to upgrade their '15 XB4's as well.
So even here in Europe where stock have been good there has been a real challenge to keep parts in stock.
But production is going full speed so there should be no reason for concern
We're heading to the factory on Wednesday for another race there and can't wait to take another tour of the factory to see the new machines they've acquired since our last visit
