Best Off-Road 1/8th Scale E-Buggy
I am in the market for an 1/8th E-buggy and I was wondering if anyone can provide some insight. I'm looking to race competitively, therefore starting with the best kit on the market. Serpent, Techno, Kyosho, Losi (supposedly the 3.0 is coming out), or any other to compare. Any help is very much appreciated.

Any of the ones you mentioned are good for competition use. I drive a Mugen ECO this past summer and was very pleased with it. Most guys seem pretty excited about the Tekno kit.
FWIW - I bought the Mugen because most of my fellow racers drove the same buggy. It's great to be able to share knowledge & parts with your race buddies, and I would hate to miss a race due to a broken/missing part
1/8th buggies are tough as nails, and I doubt I would be much faster with one buggy vs a different brand.

Personally i would go with whats popular @ your track. Learned the hard way trying to run mugen in a 95% losi track. Not worth it. I really would choose the mugen eco first, but losi is what i got available. Don't get me wrong though, the durango, tekno, mugen, and losi are all awesome cars. Already asked about the 3.0 on the 8ight e thread. Not gonna happen for a while. He did say some factory losi guys mentioned an electric truggy.

Here I am! I heard your call!
I love Ofna/Hobao! Currently have a Nexx 8 and Hyper 9E, both awesome buggies and IMO, just as good as anything else out there. Also, used to own an LX1E/LX2E, not quiet as good handling wise but just as durable/tough.
Have recently got my hands on a Tamiya 801X-E and so far, I'm very impressed with it (haven't driven it though).
IMO, 1/8 scale is the best because unless you get something known to be very weak (eg- HSP), they're all very durable and reliable. I don't think I've regretted owning any 1/8 buggy yet

I would look at the tekno eb48. I am looking at getting into e-buggy also and this looks like it is the latest and greatest out there. It takes a while to read through all the pages on different e-buggies. I would check this one out.
I will be getting a EB48 very soon.
