I'm building a 2wd SC out of a firestorm 10t nitro chassis. The mid plate will be longer to make up the wheelbase difference and the motor will be located in front of the rear diff. I can use Blitz front bumpers and ill have to make a mount to use the spare slash 4x4 rear bumper I already have.

Has anyone ever tried to run that config? It probably won't have enough weight in the rear, but I can add some after the diff if needed. The battery will be lengthwise right in front of the motor, so the heavy stuff will be all toward the rear.

Check with the Xfactory team. They make a conversion for the SC10 that's a real work of art - carbon fiber, balanced and tested.

This is my Slash-based mid-motor 2wd SCT. I run right at 57% rear weight, compared to ~61% when it was rear motor. I prefer mid-motor over rear-motor on any surface, really. I prefer the cornering attitude all the way from turn in through exit.

That slash is SICK!. Looks like we're on the right track. I was shooting for a 6 inch wide middle, might go to a 5 inch now. Also, the battey will be mounted further back on mine. I can adjust the mounting if needed. Lots of real estate in the middle.

My brother in law is ordering the 7075 alum sheet this week. We will cut the 1st one on his mill. He is a tool and die designer by trade and has access to a water jet. Just gonna cost me too much $$ to get that deal going. Unless I can convince a dozen people that this works.

I still need a 2nd set of tires and wheels. Everything else is on it's way. Getting all antsy now...

had a mid motor SCT based on the Academy GV2T platform. It would turn inside pretty much any rear motor SCT. Very quick as well. If I could have found a chassis cover I probably would have kept it. It ran an FRP chassis that allowed more flex than a carbon fiber one which on the loose stuff here was a big plus.

If you can get the rear to hook up, the mid motor cars are awesome.
