Default Tekin T8 chatter issue

I have been running my trusty T8 motor for a while on my surprisingly reliable hobbywing 80a 1/8 esc

when I had my losi 8ight i was running it with a nice short sensor wire, but since switching to the HB Ve8, I need a sensore wire nearly 3x longer. and it took me a while to get one. since then i've been running the T8 unsensored(after a lot of reading i found this was fine to do just not as smooth)

I had a local airplane shop order in a mile long sensor wire and hooked it up last night only to get terrible chatter from the motor and it will not spin up smoothly at all.

I take the sensor wire off and it spins fine.

any ideas?

Assuming the sensor board is fine and the ESC sensor port is good too... I would say a bad cable is likely to blame.

Take the motor out and bench it so the short cable will reach your ESC and give it a test spin that way... If it is good then you just need to try to find a better cable that will reach while it is all mounted.

sounds like a bad senser cable.

you can buy a 250-275mm sensor cable from any hobby shop...

Make sure it's wired A-A, B-B and C-C from ESC to motor. With the Ve8 you have to set the Reverse Motor option when running with the sensor wire. Swapping two wires will not work with the sensor cable attached.
