My ts2te arrived today. Nice looking kit. I like the shape of the body. I ended up with AKA soft Enduros. I got it for $135 shipped from hobby & recreation products, pretty surprised at the price. Now i have to build it! Have no idea where to go with motor though. I might race a bit in beginner class, it will never be a regular thing. Is 17.5 good? I heard the 21 class is too slow.

Hi guys.
Does the TS2 kit come with tyres & body ?
Apart from plastic shock(TR2), are there any other major differences between the TR2 & TS2 ?
I know the TR2 is a full kit with tyres & (junk)radio/motor/esc . I would just sell that kit radio/esc/motor anyway.

Im not in the US, so Im limited to what I can buy, many stores wont ship internationally. or want $150 just for postage !!!
RCmart has the TS2 $200 , no wheels , thats another $50? for wheels
rcmodel.hk has the TR2, $200 full kit R2R
both will ship to NZ at reasonable courier rates (its about another $50 for courier)
I have a TC02c(Ansman) , I guess I can use many of my spares from that . perhaps I can use its metal shocks if i get the TR2 ?
So undecided which to get . Or is there a better choice?
Cheers

I'll only be racing indoor carpet, very small track

Gearbox question. I have a TS2se. Got it used ss it's great. Second day at the track, the gearbox strips out.

It was the teeth on the gear diff. So I put my TC02 Evo ball diff transmission in the truck as I wait for parts.

The top shaft and especially the aluminum idler seemed work and "peaky". So I cleaned up the top shaft, put a POM idler in and those two gears felt great in the gearbox.

Last night I assembled the diff. One of the bearings goes on the diff very snugly and I can't tell if this is normal or not (no gear diff experience). So, I think the bearing is on correctly as I've removed it and seated it a couple of times.

Here is the issue. When I spin the gears, there is one spot that has greater resistance. So, it's smooth and then tight for a couple of teeth and then smooth again.

Is this an out of round gear diff or the teeth need to wear in? Thus, I only have to run it for a bit?

Thoughts?

just buy the TS2TE, The rtr kit will not satisfy a racer, Personally I use the TM2SC which is there speacialist 'Carpet' truck, little more pricey, but unreal truck.
The 'race' trucks come with rim's and bodies, rtr tyres are not suitable for much anyway. You could try Teamcaustralia.com, The nzd is at a favourable rate to the aussie dollar at the moment so worth a shot, very helpful guys too

Yes, they were smart to not include tires, which are a very personal choice. I was also glad to be able to purchase tires that were made in the USA, when so much of this hobby is made overseas.

Thats OK, at least it will get me under way, hopefully in time for the next race meet.

Are the kit Rims OK ? or should I just replace them? I dont want to put expensive tyres on rims that may be a bit out of wack or crack easily .
Are the Kit Rims a Std SCT size ? I'll need to put Schumacher SCT Mini Pins on them.

have you tried TCModels.net?

http://tcmodels.net/index.php?page=s...mart&Itemid=71

i've never had any issues with the stock wheels, if you have to buy another set, anything that fits a slash 4x4 will be your best bet.
i recommend getting schumacher stagger rib tires for the front and minipins for the rear.

Thanks for that , Ive spent the last 3 days trying to get one. Not sure how I didnt see that one, I was there a few days back.
Ordered now.

The local rule is minipin type tyre only, I'll ask if stagger rib tires are allowed. Perhaps think they are worried about damage to the carpet by SCT's.

https://teamcusa.us/product/washero-ring-tu0250-8/

There you go, in my experience if the shipping is too expensive and you aren't in a hurry ask for cheaper shipping, they seem to prefer fast shipping in invoices.
