Check the listings here. Note what says B44 in the description.

I don't understand something...... why wouldn't the car already feel planted with the saddles in the rear, and why wouldn't the front end be more of the problem on weight being light than the rear due to the saddles being in the rear?

Is a bit confusing to me.
Me too! And every setup sheet you see they run batteries forward.i am going to try mine tonight with batteries back and no weight.

Regarding the whole weight thing... Keep in mind just how much weight your motor / ESC / Rx / servo are adding up front. I meant to weigh all that before I installed, cause I was curious. I'm willing to bet all that weight is in the ballpark as just the saddle packs in the rear... Hence a lot of B44 drivers prefer about 50g on up to the full 87g of the ballast weight installed out back.

I felt the 44.2 drove nice w/o weight. It was slight, but the car felt improved with the saddles pushed back as opposed to being closer to the front (again, no added weight).

The next thing I'll try before going a step down to softer rear spring (green) is to add about 60g of weight between the saddles. 2 rows of 4 weights stacked on top of one another. I've seen some of the Associated guys run it like that out here in SoCal.

So i'm about to pull the trigger on a 4wd, I've narrowed it down to the b44.2 or the Dex410 v3. I just wanted to know if any of you guys have maybe driven the 410 and can tell me how it compares to the b44.2. I know this is a B44.2 thread so i expect most will say the B44.2, but just looking for objective opinions, i am leaning toward the B44.2 as it just seems to offer more..what do ya think?

Questions?? Help w/Motor Mounting please

I have a tekin 7.5 I'm attempting to install on the b44.2. However, I'm either over tired from work today, or I simply don't get it. (I'm putting it down for tonight, but still wanted to throw this out there).

The instructions say make sure the posts on the motor clear the top deck. However, I don't know how I would bend them down! I want to show you guys something on these:

I know this isn't the 7.5, but it still illustrates my problem. There is a type of hard fiberglass board right behind the posts. I don't particularly feel like breaking this piece to get these posts closer to the motor can. So, the other option is to slightly tilt out the posts away from the upper deck. Look at this picture of the mesh below:

This leads me to the question as to what holes to mount that piece onto the motor. Here are the holes on the Redline:

Sigh... maybe I'm just overtired, but maybe someone can walk me thru mounting this thing. I looked at the instructions and didn't feel the instructions did a good job illustrating how this motor sits in the motor mount.

First off, if you go back in this thread, there are a few folks that came in with driving experience on the 4WD Durango, and gave a lot of credit to AE on this car. I have a 44.1 as well, and this 44.2 just rocks. It drives great, jumps great, corners great with the kit setup. I'm looking forward to trying to dial it in even further, but my car was so much fun and well handling when I drove it for the first time this past Monday. Got about 8 packs through it, had a blast.

Regarding your Tekin motor mounting, since the chassis plate heights hasn't changed, you'll probably find the answer in the B44.1 thread. You can use any 2 opposite holes on your motor for mounting, but like you said, it's all about the angle of those circuit board tabs coming off your motor and fitting. I wouldn't say it's so much about being below the top chassis plate (despite what AE states) but more about it fitting in there between the body. I've snapped a quick phone pic to give you an idea of how much clear area there is around the motor tabs / body on my build. This is the included Jconcepts body. I also have a ProLine Bulldog body that I could check out to see if there is more clearance room (or not).

Get some rest, search the B44.1 thread for "Tekin", and work on the motor install tomorrow. It can't be coincidence that most build / maintenance mistakes I've made on RC cars is late at night when I've been going at it for a while, or just flat out mentally tired.

Ok, cool. Glad to hear people areliking the B44.2..this will be my next ride. One of the things that bothers me about the 410 is it's diffs, I don't like messing with the fluid, leaks and heavy.

You should consider an SX3 also. I've done side-by-side comparisons lately against the B44 my daughter used to drive (a buddy owns it now) and the 44 is harder to drive by far. BUT, the 44.2 looks like a much improved upon version that should be easier to control... like my SX3.

Anyways.... carry on .
