Whats the best cheap temp gun that I can use on an electric motor

Just get a cheap one from eBay... They work fine for me.

The $270 exergen is the best. No offense to anyone but we spend a lot of money on our rc cars and a good temp gun is key. You buy cheap you get cheap. good luck with that.

Actually the exergen is not the best... Fluke makes a thermal imager gun that shows you how hot every part of the motor is... I think its like 9 grand though. But if you REALLY cared about how hot you motor was this is what you want. I just use my thumb.

+1. cheapest and has yet to fail me. 3 second touch rule. If you cannot touch your finger on the motor for 3 seconds then it is over 160F. I have temped with a gun to verify and i am usually very close with this method.
