Exclamation Poor fuel milage on AE .15

OK I'm getting about 4 min 30 sec out of a tank of fuel (Traxxas Top Fuel 20%)
This is on my oval dirt track, I'm practicing with my RC10GT RTR Stock (pretty much) untill I get my Klein sprint car kit in & get it built.

The engine is tuned for power, running about 270 degrees & it has a .190 restrictor installed, gearing is 15/64, stock tires & stock air filter setup.

I'm getting ready to race it as a sprint car & the heats are 5 min long, so a 3 1/2 min tank will not cut it!!!
I've read of people getting much better runtimes & I need to figgure out how to strech mine out!!

No I'm on & off the throttle, there is a lot of wheel spin though.

I'm going to need about a 6 min run time on a 5 min race with warm up so I'm not even close!!

I had a hard time tuning my buddies ae .15 to get thru 5 minute qualifiers. But my other buddies lasts quite long. I think some ae motors are just gas hogs. Dunno, it's weird.

Not much sense in modding a stock engine unless it's dirt cheap. You can get a good os motor for just over a hundred bux.

Never said to Mod the stocker. He can get a CVR .12 which gets excellent fuel milage at a very good price.
