First Ever Short Course Truck
#1

I found this on MyRcBox.com
Many R/C enthusiasts believe that Traxxas was the first company to introduce short course trucks. In 1990, Team Associated was selling a Circa short course truck body (PN: ASC6174) for their legendary RC10 buggy. This conversion kit was 22 years ago, it is amazing! At this time, 2wd buggies were the reigning electric off-road class and electric stadium trucks appeared about a year later.
So, now when your friends will tell you that Traxxas has invented the short course truck, you now know what to answer them!

That body looks awesome I wish sc trucks were that size instead of how big they are.

So just throwing on a body will make it whatever you want? I don't think I'd personally count that as the first SCT.

Actually they (Traxxas)probably did put out the first short course truck , as that Associated is modeled after a desert racing/baja style truck which is quite different from the short course trucks that are running on prepped racing circuts for a set number of laps and not on the open country for hundreds of miles .
Tamiya also has a truck body that is much older than the Slash , but again it is a desert racer not a short course truck .......

Like others have said, a body doesn't make a new truck.

actually these guys came out with what I believe to be the first dedicated rc short course truck (that or tamiya). These things were around for a long time, but they didn't handle very well and the company was not very big. It took a superpower like traxxas to make "the first one".
