None of those trucks are really short course trucks as we know them , they are more desert racing/Baja 500 style trucks than what is running on the closed circut courses .

You can argue who had the first full fendered truck body , but Traxxas was the first to offer an SCT body modeled after SCT trucks .....

losi had a baja body conversion for their xx4(which I still have)from the late 90's ..

I agree, it really was the first STADIUM truck for RC(based on what was used in the Mickey Thompson Stadium offroad series), & those were even an adaptation of what they used in Desert trucks(like for the Baja & Paris-Dakar races)....
