I've built a Frog, and I know someone who's done a Hornet, a Thunder Shot and a Falcon

I had a falcon! It was my very first rc car. I bought it as a broken pile of bits at a garage sale for $1! My dad helped me fix it up and put it together. The car was nearly as old as I was. The receipt from the store was still in the box and dated '88 or '89, can't remember. It wasn't too long after that I bit the bullet and bought a t3 to race with. I still remember my excitement after the first time I drove that thing. I thought it was so fast, but it only had a silver can motor in it!

So many memories on this forum! I recently built a frog for one of my friends, but he doesn't use it because one of the uprights is broken so I'm gonna borrow it from him for a few months and fix it and upgrade it in exchange. I hope at least.

we used to sell 20-30 Tamiya kits a week back then, I'd order cases of the popular ones...
for parts there were plastic tubs for each car full of parts trees...
I was building 3-5 gold tub rc10's a week for customers, made $50 a car for less than 2 hours work (painted and rtr)
those were... no wait.....
these are the good old days

At this point it's looking like I'm getting it, but the deal isn't final, yet.

We just finished up a track locally and one of the classes will be dedicated for Vintage Tamiya. Here are a few that showed up on a track build day. Also a shot of my line up. The Fast Attack was where it all started for me and I have never found a car that put a bigger grin on my mug!

I believe I had a 17 double Demon motor in it and was pleasantly surprised it didn't shred the gear box.

It also survived a small fire started by a worn out Parma speed control during a race.

If I ever have the fun money left over I would love to have one of those beautifully ugly cars again. The sound of a race class for classics is an attractive idea.
