Body off and on would be interesting I would love a converted XB9 but the conversion itself is just too expensive

I just bought a converted car with the Elite mount, Losi tray, and mugen radio box. For those that have built one like that, do you feel that is has too much flex? I am thinking about making some carbon side guards, or carbon stiffeners for mine. Also, will the plastic spur gear from the 808e work with the Elite mount and stock XB9 center diff? I hate running metal spur gears unless I have to.

No, the flex is fine with the losi tray, Unless your running inside with mega traction, you'll want the chassis to have a little flex in it.

The spur gear that will work with the Elite mount is the Kyosho 44T Spur Gear, no shimming required.

Make sure you use a Kyosho P6 O-Ring as well to make sure there are no leaks.

Yeah thats right this is offroad so flex is more grip . My old 808 e conversion still handles great even with all the flex there. The k2rc side guards are not needed IMHO. I am really interested in the long chassis brace though. I like tuning flex with that. Its a lot more macro compared to the plastic flex tuning which is good for fine tuning.

Cool. Did you have to do anything to the XSCT9E to reduce the width?

Any issues with the pinion whacking the RX box? Or is yours trimmed a bit?

The RX box is trimmed, just a hair for pinion clearance.

As far as the width, you can get the truck to 296 by drilling new holes for the front arms 5mm on the inside, It was really tough to get it straight, took a few tries.

The rear was simple, 5mm in from the hub hole.

Then you use front center driveshafts from a XB808 2011 spec, they are shorter and fit well.

i have to disagree with you about the flex, using the battery tray. i assure you that the car flexes entirely too much.. so much that the body will break at the front, due to the chassis flex.

my first body hole turned into a big time slot, that ended up breaking the whole front off the body.

i created a mount from the XT8 steering link that went from the center diff, to the rear diff case.

do you have to remove the receiver box to change pinions?

I wish we could convince Tim Bump to make an XB9 conversion like the one he is doing for the new MBX7. http://www.nitrohouse.com/Tim-Bump-M...erer=mailid:31

That's crazy, I'v been beating the hell out of this car for over a year, and it keeps asking for more.

You must have done something wrong. My buggy is plenty stiff, so is my SCT, so is my XT9....
