I'm probably gonna ended up running it at either Delta or Hobbytown track..that's the only two off road track that exist in bay area. There used to be the old Losi track aka Ranch Pit Stop, but I doubt that place still exist nowadays.

Any other suggestion?

Well...backtracking their previous engagement with the 4WD camp (Top Force, Avante family, Hot Shot family), I smell roses on this one too, bro!

I figured this chassis is based on the TA04S (molded plastic) then the Super NEO Shot is going to be based on TA04R (molded composite CF, aluminum non-threaded shocks and FRP shock towers) and last NEO Shot TRF? (double deck CF with aluminum gearbox, Threaded TRF shocks and parts).

How's that for a dreamer?

The new tamiya baja king 4wd that just came out is a good car it could take a pretty tough beating and its only 95 bucks but you still need a controller so thats about another hundred but i would definitly check into it

There's a few more links to the car if you look at the Shizouka thread in electric touring. A couple of good things are that the wishbones are 1 piece and look sturdy, and the general design is quite competitiony, despite the cheap parts and ugly body on this version.

Maybe you'll see a TRF Neo Shot at this years off-road worlds?

actually, I was discussing something similar on the radiocontrolzone forum...

getting a TB01 and putting on the TL01B super long arms with some longer shocks and 2.2 buggy wheels/tires would make a perfect 4wd buggy! They do fit too, but i cant find those arms anywhere!

Its got a chassis cover so everything would be sealed, all you'd need is a "buggy" body to fit... shouldnt be to hard to find one that fits. plus everytime i use my rally tb01 on the offroad track it just flies through the air beautifully... usually lands on all 4 tires.

Anyone wanna try it out? I got a TB01 and shocks and tires. just need to find those arms, body and buy some wheels.

I;ve looked into that Losi XX4 front and rear arms will work will some small chassis modification. Unfortunately as with any tourer conversion its would need more kickup in front otherwise its would just not handle worth a ding. Also I decided against converting the TB01 because while the drivetrain runs smoothly its has alot of load on the motor and the motor always heats up bad. So when you add heavier off road tires and long shafts there alot more load and the heat build up would even be worse. I would like to try converting either a 414M2 or Evo3 for off road they would be the best bet. Just my 2 cents....this is off topic but right now I'm working on converting one of my kx-one's to off road. Next I want to do a Tamiya!

I still own a Tamiya Hot Shot from way back in the mid 80's and still like it as a Classic kit..... It was my first 4WD RC and only the 2nd RC I owned after getting a Tamiya Super Champ. It was a solid buggy for it's time but no matter what I did to it... it was just way too heavy as against it's competition. I tip my hat off to Tamiya for a serious attmpt at making a kit that was shaft driven as against the much more common and accepted Belt driven and Chain driven buggies (like the Yokomo Dog Fighter, etc) of the day. My third buggy was an RC10 Stealth (Black Tub) and I have been a die-hard and staunch Associated supporter ever since.

Unfortunately, even though Tamiya has more reasources than most of it's competition combined, it seems their focus will never be serious when it comes to Off-Road Racing. Why? I don't know anyone who has a clue?!? I guess they know when their BEAT and have just given up on seriously competing in that class and market. They would rather put out cheap, package deal, ready to run Off-Road buggies to make a quick buck then actually seriously go for an IFMAR Off-Road World Title. The stuff they have been putting out the last few years are just a step above RC toys. That's too bad for all of us. At least the other big monster RC company from the Land of the Rising Sun (Kyosho) hasn't done that nor have the 4WD specialists at Yokomo.

By the way, besides Delta or the off road track down in Hobby World (Gilroy), a very good Off-Road track (indoor) that is in reach from the Bay Area is Capital City R/C Center in Sacramento. I have seen fully sponsored driver Lloyd Dassonville (Associated) practice there as does (on occasion) Losi's World Champ Matt Francis. Below are the details to all three tracks
