Default Novak motor question.

I'm running a Novak GTB ESC in a HPI Blitz. I have a Novak Ballistic 17.5T, 13.5T and 10.5T motors. I know the 17.5T motor is not fast at all but the 13.5T and 10.5T motors should be faster but they just seem to be slow for me what Novak motor should I be running in my SCT to equal a 4 pole 3200KV sensorless motor (I was running this motor before I switched over to Novak motors and ESC.)

If you liked the 4 pole sensorless, why not run that?

I can't run one motor in two trucks I alternate racing trucks. I have a Slash and a Blitz. And I don't wanna keep changing the motor form one truck to the other.

For a mod motor in 2wd you can go 8.5t to 6.5t, 6.5 will go like a bat outta hell and may be more motor than you want in a 2wd.
Brand choice depends on how deep your pockets are and also sensored will up the price as well.

Thanks for the info but I'm a little confused cause I also have a hobbywing 10T motor (I run sensorless motors with sensorless ESC in the Slash) and its much faster then my Novak 10.5T motor. And I don't have another sensorless ESC cause I use it in other cars. I do have a sensored Novak GTB ESC that I wanna run in an HPI Blitz and this is why I was wondering what Novak motor I should pair it up with to run at the same speed as the 3200KV and 3500KV motors.

You can run sensorless or sensored motors with a sensored esc.

The turns in a motor are not everything, the quality of the wind and the materials also make a difference.

If you want to stick with Novak (you don't have to) look at their 540 can motors and 8.5 is probably as low as you want to go or you will have a burnout machine

Oh, also, speed has more to do with gearing. Power has to do with the motor.

Well you see this is where it confuses me cause on the Novak's website they rate the 10.5T ballistic motor at 4600KV but I just don't get that much speed out of it. I have the same exact set up on my Slash I have a Hobbywing 10T 3500KV motor and with the same gearing it flies. If I run the two trucks side by side the Slash easily outruns my Blitz. So this is where I don't get how a 10T 3500KV motor with the same gearing can outrun a 10.5T 4600KV motor with the same gearing. Is the spec wrong on the Novak.

So instead of a $50 to $60 motor you have to spend $95 for a Novak

Yeah I tried this and you can only run the Novak sensored motors with this ESC if you try to run a motor without the sensor wire or another sensored motor they don't work it didn't work with my Duratrax sensored motor it overheated it very fast.

Or get a used ones here for $60. That's what I did. The nice thing about the Novak motors you can rebuild them. Just drop in a new com an stator if they go bad and its cheaper then keep buying new motors.

KV ratings are not equal . 10.5T with on brand might have more or less KV than the other . 10.5T turn is a pretty fast motor and you can`t gear it the same to an unsensored motor . You should always gear to performance and temperature . You can even buy two exact same motors and one might be slightly faster than the other .
