Exclamation Question about Novak Spy in a Mini-T

couldn't find a mini-t thread to put this in so here goes:

I just got a novak spy for my mini-t. I was using it and i dont like how it automatically goes into reverse when i want to brake. i know you can disable the reverse feature on the unit, but can you have reverse and brake?? do you think that i have to disable reverse in order to produce a braking action?
thanks

try reprogramming the esc. i am running a spy in my m18 and it has brakes. what might be happening is if you lock up the rear wheels in the dirt the esc thinks the truck has stopped and its going into reverse. the XRS uses a double pump feature to go into reverse. try your mini t on the pavement without skidding the rear tires and see if it still goes into reverse. you will be able to see if it has brakes.

i hate the brakes on both speed controls. ive given up and gone to forward only controls. they are both speed sensitive reverse. the XRS is supposedly double pump, but if you arent going forward fast enough it will instantly kick into reverse. its brutal!

i dont have an XRS though, i have a Spy micro. i mainly run on pavement, and when i am off throttle and the truck is coasting to a stop, i press the trigger forward while the truck still has momentum. the rear wheels immediately kick into reverse and spin backwards slightly while the truck is still going forward. i know this is probably killing my transmission. so do you think if i change to forward only(hardly use it anyways), i will brake instead of going into reverse(it cant b/c its disabled)?

The Reverse can be Disabled on the Spy, and the Brakes will still work normally.

Sometimes the Smart Braking gets tricked by the motors, Some of the motors don't create enough signal for the Smart Braking to see, so the reverse will kick in early.

Or something is wrong with the ESC and it's not working like its supposed to.

Email me if you like.
Thanks
Charlie
