Castle Mamba Monster Motor and Esc Met a Pool

So my e revo brushless had a nasty crash and landed in my pool after a death roll lasting like 200 yards so I am wondering if my motor is junk like the esc is now

any adivce please let me know and i should mention the esc smoked and flamed and melted part of my body

ESC = Done
Motor = Maybe can be salvaged, I think the bearings will be shot though.

Esc your screwed just send it to Castle . The Motor is good i think just the bearings are shot .

Devil: I figured out how to make the Mamba Monster smoother to feel somewhat like a sensor system and thats using the expo on my radio to negative -4 it helped with wheelspin out of the corners when the dirt is dry.

Im not sure if thats the samething as punch control but from talking to somebody at the track it sounds like the same.

You know what it might only be one bearing and thats on the rear of the motor there might be one on the endbell i dont know because i never took it apart.

i took the back off to drain any water inside and placed it on top of my dehumidifer in my house and only remember seeing one bearing in the back of the can

is there a bearing in the front in between shaft and magnet?

Im not sure there should be though it would make sense for a brushless motor to have two bearings on the motor shaft.

Edit theres two of them i looked on Amain.

It has two bearings, if you figure out what size they are you can get them from avid rc for $1 each.

Motors require high speed bearings, a standard bearing won't handle 30000+ RPM without flying to bits.

Correct

Okay good deal so I need two bearings...dumb question you think those bearings are ceramic??

Okay found out they are cerAmic bearings and have dimensions of
Id 5mm x OD 16mm x 5mm width

So now the task becomes finding them cheaper than 25.00 for two bearings

marooko 08-09-2012 08:20 AM

A little more than a dollar, but you might be looking for these Avid bearings.
