How much would I get out of my SC
I have SC10 RS RTR with Rockstar body, with a slight tear in it, but pretty good condition. With stock brushless system, 3000 reedy wolf pack 2s lipo. front aluminum A-Arms and RPM Tow rod ends (8 extra). How much do you think I could get out of selling this? Has Jconcepts subcultures, and a Spektrum DX2E tx/rx.

and maxamps are well over $100. just because something costs alot new doesn't mean the resale value is the same. with stock electrics and a midpack lipo $150-175. Like I said before check out ebay or the fs section here for pricing. If you had a bunch of spares, race ready lipos (5000mah, 40+c rating), an upgraded tx/rx, or upgraded electronics it would be worth more. Resale value in RC's sucks for the most part and if you get 50-75% you are doing pretty well.
Remember, replacing broken parts doesn't add value and the joy you had in unboxing it and playing with it is part of it. not trying to be mean but ive bought, sold and traded alot of vehicles and just telling you what i would consider fair market value.

R/C cars are not investments. Even the vintage and rare stuff. I had about 15 vintage R/C vehicle that I purchased a few years ago when the economy was really good. I probably had $3000-4000 into all of them. Some of them were in perfect shape, some of them were in need of attention. Some of them were really sought after, some of them were esoteric, and were of interest to only the right person. I sold them all a couple months ago to fund an 1/8th scale nitro buggy. I got about $1700 for everything I sold.
The 2 newest segments of this hobby (SC (you) and Crawlers) have brought in a bunch of new people that seem to think their used stuff doesn't depreciate, and are willing to pay exorbitant prices for used stuff. This is absolutely absurd. These are toy vehicles that we beat the piss out of. Back before you guys ruined the used car market, you could find a cheap season old RACE car like nobodies business. Racers want fresh cars, and if we can offset the cost of the new kit a hundred bucks, and help out some kid wanting to get into the hobby, great. Now you think after beating the crap out of a truck for six months, you should get almost what you payed for it?
$150-175 would be about what you can expect to see out of your truck. Maybe $200 if it is in really nice shape. Now might there be some idiot out there that wants exactly what you have, is willing to pay more because he wants it right now, doesn't want anyone to have it, and has the money to throw at it (although with the economy the way it is I doubt it)? Sure, that person might exist, but what are the odds of them finding your truck? Also this hobby is all about what you want, someone might want that truck, but does not like the paint job on the body, or the batteries you have, all for reason XYZ that they have in their little head.
In closing, the phrase "An item is only worth what someone will pay for it" holds very true. Throw it up on here, Feebay, and Craigslist. I'm sure you'll find someone.
