It's not the same as comparing computers. Windows xp and 10 are two completely different programs, the newer kit is just a slight difference. 95%of the kit is the same.
All I'm saying is to say you would sell a new kit, take the financial hit, just to turn around and buy the updated version is unnecessary.

Sure, but to sell it just to buy the updated version? Tell yo u what, I'll help you out and take that outdated and worthless car off your hands for $100.

Looking at Tower's site they list 2 RB6 kits.
LXEMUD $449.97
LXFMVY $399.99
What one is the new kit?

I believe the price difference is because of USD to JPY Exchange Rate changing over time.
So you can tell if you got the new kit by just the rear springs, if it came with Gold rear springs its the 2015 and if it came with red its the old version, it also comes with the updated 3 hole rear shocks

Im pretty sure what the cost to most LHS was close to 400 on the older kit. Funny how things change over time

I'd look to return the car if you spent the extra $50 on the "older" car. But if they sent the wrong car, the only real difference is what, the rear springs and extra holes in the rear arms and chassis?
See if they'll cover the cost of the springs and drill out the arms.

Didn't the UM700B chassis come in the 2015 kit? That has more battery locations.

Basically if Kyosho made a "B" part to something it's now included. Off the top of my head it's the following:
Front Aluminum Brace (Supposed to be stronger)
Rear Springs (Gold vs Red)
Chassis (only has new holes nothing else)
Rear Arms (Has 2 new inside holes)
Manual (Has PNs listed when building now)
Ballcups (Hard version now)
Rear bulkhead (has thicker section by screws and a sway bar mount)
Wing (3.0 vs 2.0 which has 2 different wings, curved and straight)
Front Aluminum Brace (Supposed to be stronger)
Rear Springs (Gold vs Red)
Chassis (only has new holes nothing else)
Rear Arms (Has 2 new inside holes)
Manual (Has PNs listed when building now)
Ballcups (Hard version now)
Rear bulkhead (has thicker section by screws and a sway bar mount)
Wing (3.0 vs 2.0 which has 2 different wings, curved and straight)

Some of the above mentioned items were in my kit so it looks like they made running changes. I got the aluminum hinge pin brace and the chassis has considerably more holes then shown in the manual for battery positions so I assume that is the updated item. Rear arms have two holes (not sure if the updated has two or three?) on one side and two on the opposite side. No clue on what the others items looked like before so I don't know if they are the older version or not.
