I didnt have the original; what were the differences? The 2015 came with machined pistons and based on some stuff I had read earlier in the thread, it seemed like that may not have been the case with the original.

The only listed 'differences' I could find with the 2015 is: a new rear wing, different rate rear springs, and more mounting holes in the rear arms.

Are there any other updates that it has?

New car has a different chassis, as well as some more lightweight stuff I believe. Not much.

The current trends are the 3 gear tranny mod and chassis mods for different battery positions.

Yes, the Version 2 aluminum rear hubs come with inserts that allow you to use the kit 5x10mm bearings.
The Version 1 rear hubs come with the 5x13mm outer bearings and you can use the kit 5x10 for the inner.

4k... I might try out 3k though, I would like a tad more off power rotation, but it was super stable though the sweeper, much more so than a ball diff which would diff out and cause inconsistencies.
