So got a race report here:
For the first round of our FMRC Winter Series on indoor carpet, FOSS EcoFi Status Ozite, track conditions were very tight lanes, about 6ft - 7ft lanes. Traction was about a Med-High I would say in comparison to say CRC Black Ozite. We are allowed to sauce so I used SXT 3.0.
Big thing as always on our track is rotation and torque. You really need to choose your lines for passing and with it being a very small track (sub 10 second times are possible when really going), you bobble and you could be down a lap before you know it.
First Heat:
During practice I started with some slightly worn cactus tires and felt they had sufficient traction to rotation decided to stick with them versus a fresh set. This was a good idea as based on my CAL3 running with a newer set, it wasn't as good. From the start I had a bit more push than I liked but the car was consistent, no weird kick out on the rear. I managed to TQ the round here with the fastest lap of 9.791 however my consistency could be better. Based on what I was seeing, I ended up changing the following:
- Yellow AE V2 front springs
Heat Two:
Since the car was good before, I decided to try and work on consistency and see if any areas I felt I could pick up some improvements. The car had improved rotation but I felt I could still get a bit more. After the resort that happened, I was in the later heat and saw that the first heat top driver didn't geat my previous TQ time so I decided to focus on staying in front but not push it too hard. Was a bit slower this time but still respectable. Based on what I saw I decided to change:
- Down half degree on rear toe
A Main:
This time it was time to let her rip. the few quick pre-race laps I did I felt the car was more free in the rear end like I needed but still very stable. Going back and forth with 2wd to 4wd definitely change the mindset on how I drive, with 4wd being more on power. From the beginning took off and held first the whole race, and based on what the timing system is sayiing looks like I may have lapped the field as well. Had second fastest lap of a 9.775 with the fastest set by another of a 9.430. My consistency though was significantly better and the car was pretty much on rails lol.
Here is the setup I ended with:
based on what I am seeing, for this track I would probably try the following next for a bit more rotation:
- 2mm on rear carrier
- inside position on rear shock tower
- Drop front kickup
- 1 corner pill on RR block versus 0.5 corner pill
Like the DTM3.1/CAL3.1 thread, I think we should also have a YZ4SF2 thread.

With how things went with covid and all and the car was released just last year, be curious if they update anything, to that level, maybe a running change on front bulkheads.
Gotcha.
So back to some discussions on the car, how have things been working out for you all with the 6 dig carriers?
the wiki has been updated with the 66.5mm bone modification to prevent the ejection of the CVD bone on the rear of the car

Amain dropped price to $399 so probably a new version coming soon.

That could because the CAL/DTM 3.1 is priced around that. They have had the YZ2T on sale for a long while and there is no word on a new (per me talking to Maifield).
With that, I had the chance to see but of Maifield's cars in Oct. I could see some of the changes to the 2wd, which I asked him about, and the 4wd didn't have anything new on it that I could see. I don't suspect to see a new 4wd within a year.

What are the spur options for this car? Anything under 80?
