I just assembled my tc02 kit and tested it. The screw and locknut which holds the ball diff together keep coming loose. I changed the locknut but it didn't helped. I could have stripped the screw but don't have a spare 2.5mm 25mm long screw . Is this a known issue for ball diff ?
I want to use ball diff but if it has issues I might consider to get a gear diff.

Sounds like you may have it backwards. Flip the ball diff around and see it it stops

Generally the right, or spur side.

The screw goes opposite of the spur gear per the manual. If you look carefully at the image you can see the plastic part of the nut in the outdrives on the same side as the spur gear.

I forgot too mention that I used tlr rear internal rear hub bearing spacer and the two other little spacers that come with it to space out the slipper plates.

I've had issues with that nut/screw stripping.

I also know guys who use it with no problems at all.

One quick and permanent fix is to switch to this: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Diff-Screw-Set

No mods needed and the hardware is much stronger, plus you ditch the phillips head. I haven't had a single problem since switching to this hardware.

trying the new 7" wing from jconcepts on my evo. I really like it so far! car seemed a bit more stable in the sweeper/stepdown section at wcrc with it.

Thanks for the advice
I realized I've stripped the screw. I changed it and problem solved

Correct.

I did it like the manual says.
Funny thing is, at the track some people are pretty confident that is wrong.
Mine is not loosening so I guess stick with the manual.
The manual could be more clear about this.

I used the TU0238 Ceramic balls inside my diff.
I had to make the diff very tight for it to not "bark".

Sometimes I still hear it bark on a carpet track. (high grip)
The slipper is as loose as possible.
Any way to improve this?

When is the diff too tight?
If the plastic nut holder goes bananas?

Thx!

what diff rings are you using?

I used the B-Fast diff kit in my TC02C. it only barked when my slipper was too tight.
