86/23=3.74 (stock)
90/19=4.74 (current)
I'd probably get the 86 spur, then just play with pinions from there, starting around 22. But it sounds like with what you have now, it's fairly under geared. With BL, that can be almost as bad as over geared. But it depends on driving style and terrain too.

Is the truck for bashing or racing? If is for bashing, use a whole battery with the ratio you want to run and then check the tempature with a temp gun. If the tempature is over 140-150^F than go to a lower ratio. If it is for racing run for the time of a main, and again use the temp gun. Again if it is over 140-150^F use a lower gear ratio.
