I ran both Tekin 4000,4600. I thought they were much like light switches on or off with the way they make power. Im now running the Reedy Sonic 4.5 550 2 pole and its a monster. Real smooth bottom and a nice powerband mid to top.

I ran the Pro4 4000 indoor last winter...beautiful, grunty motor. I thought very linear motor, geared it to moon...even ran timing on it.

Switched the Pro 4 4600 for outdoors...motor is softer down low than the 4000 but man what a top end charge...ran cool and hard...killed the sensor board in it 2 weekend's ago and it's currently @ Tekin getting looked at...

Currently running the Trinity ReVtech 4800. I'm one tooth lower than what I ran the 4600 at. Temps @ 175 6 min vs the 4600 @ 140. Also sucks about another 1000 mah per race than the 4600. I had to turn current limit down from 75% to 65% and take the default 10 deg out of the RX8 to get this thing thru a race. Top end is about even to the 4600 with the smaller pinion. On the plus side, it is smoother...but the Tekin will be going back in when it gets back...

You say the Tekin will be going back in when it gets back. Did it need to be repaired? What happened? Did it fail during a race and cause a DNF?

It would appear he had a sensor board failure.

Oh duh! Thanks Randy, not sure how I missed that! Guess I should quit peeking at the forums while trying to work!

The Tekin RX8/Pro4 4000kv has been good to me so far. Overkill on the smaller indoor clay track I run on and runs very cool. It delivers the goods for sure.

only reason im keeping my trinity monster 5.5 is because im worried the 4.5 might be too much indoor lol. the 5.5 with 2 clicks of timing is pretty sick too with no esc timing tho. thinking the 4.5 with -1 might be good indoors

www.teamcrc.com is also an option on the hobbywing stuff. You will find it cheaper at falcon sekido though.

We can end the debate right now, just get the sensored tenshock sc411 5200kv and u will not want for any more motor!!! Its 550 4 pole, theres nothing on the track that can touch it

The question that pops into my head is the mentioning that the 550 2 pole motors don't lose much in terms of power, but are far smoother.

Do the 2 pole motors get better runtime?

Unless its a ROAR event. Then it cant even touch the track.
